I've reported this thread for being in the wrong forum.
If my count is correct this is actually going to be the 8th time a moderator has had to do something about you posting in the wrong forum. You're a real fucker. Nevermind.
I guess this thread isn't moving.
But, I still think this is one of the worst threads in the history of creation.
Besides, Dorian Gray was a homo-erotic vampire story--this thread should be merged with a Madonna thread or some shit. You're a real fucker. I watched the movie ^ last night and enjoyed it very much; interesting premise. Kinda suspensful, knda scary...And I'll add that even though Dorian Gray (the character) was a butt head; I thought the character who "led" him (Gray) into a life of "excess" and then turned on him, was just as much or more of a butt head; I mean, he was living vicariously through Gray and introduced him to all the gluttonus behavior at the opium dens.....he should have been in the fire too! but that's besides the point.
Found this while searching your words above - very similar:

The 1945 movie is NOT a vampire movie, period nor is it about glutonous personality behavior.
What it is about is one's choices in action being fully aware of right or wrong and acting in deeds towards oneself or another either via good deed or bad deed in doing so, plants a seed that grows silently in one's own reflection of themself. Be it on a painter's canvass or your own mirror. Dorian Gray was his own warden of life or his own death in life. He allowed himself to go insane from the guilt and ramifications of being too egotistical with his feelings in action for which his only cure was death by trying to kill his alter ego that had over taken his daily life. In doing so... he killed himself. Point being: Love one another and live forever. Thank you. Take care, me [Edited 3/15/11 20:03pm] Silence is really golden and Gold is the rose in the heart for the Rose Of Sharon is where We never departed, YHVH/INRI...me. | |

You are absolutely correct. The Oscar Wilde picture focused a bit more on the inner-conscience, choices and consequences message, the remake was big on the dramatic theatrical product. Still the underlying message was the same.
I agree with the movie premise as you've outlined it.
