Please help me fund my debut album

Hi guys,

I've been posting here for around 7 years, but I doubt I've ever been noticed, really. I don't usually have much to offer to discussions here.

I'm 21 years old and am going to be finished with my school year soon and am headed back to my home the twin cities. I'm going to begin recordings for my debut album. I've written what I can safely call a strong collection of songs. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly made of money. I have enough money to pay for two studio sessions, but I have a few more sessions left to pay for, plus packaging and other fees.

Would you help me, org? It would mean a lot to me.

I've increased incentive (or attempted to anyway) by offering some unique, odd rewards.

If you wanna hear any music before donating, I would be happy to orgnote any of you some demos which I don't think are good enough to be posted on a facebook or myspace.

Thanks for reading,

Michael. smile

With the technology we have nowadays, you should be able to do some decent recordings without paying too much if you know someone with a home recording studio. It could be basically just a bedroom with an ok computer, some software, a sound card and a condenser or dynamic mic. A dynamic mic will cost you a hundre dollars if you buy it yourself, and with decent sound technique, you'll be able to produce a sound that will compliment your voice if you're good enough. My advice is to just record alot before you use alot of money on professional recordings. Prince was recording for many years before he released anything. He was lucky to be playing in a studio for himself for quite a while.

Put out something on myspace or youtube, or soundcloud. I would be glad to give some feedback on a private message if you're not ready for the great public yet.

I have some great acoustic demos.

The problem is, there is a steep learning curve in recording stuff yourself and I have a real urgency to get this material out now. I've heard many stories of artists ruining an album by sitting on the material for too long.

Plus I am 2 and a half hours away from any drummers that I want to work with (going to school in the middle of nowhere).

So I am willing to pay for high-quality recordings that will be an amazing document I can look back on for years.

Appreciate your helpful feedback. I am definitely going to record the second album myself, I'm thinking.

I will PM you my acoustic demos if you want but they aren't to a click.
