LadyBug

I lay submerged underwater

In an imaginary Atlantis

A little girl in a large bathtub

Surrounded by a sea of warm water

Topped with a layer of foam

Mr. Bubble in a box is what we used At Home

[img:$uid]http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p278/noreez1/ladybug.jpg[/img:$uid]

As I ascended, ascended for air

I noticed something floating toward me

I was frightened and started to cry

then I saw Mom out of the corner of my eye

She smiled, her tender smile

And then began to laugh

I jumped out of the bathtub into her lap

With me in her arms she retrieved the thing

And brought it closer, closer so that I could see

It was a Ladybug sponge, red with black dots

And although it was harmless, I didn't like it that much

After the initial shock Ladybug and I became friends

I never took another bath without Ladybug, back then

Now when I see a Ladybug my heart adds a beat

I remember my Mother, My Mom so sweet.

Your poem is so nice. Simple & sweet...took me back with an instant memory of when I was a kid and was living on a dead-end street which ended at a field...where I discovered lady-bugs for the first time and used to bring them into the house and my Mom would tell me stories about them before she would gently remove them, take them outside and set them free to fly away... You brought back a great memory of my Mom, who has passed on to a better place also... Thanks for the sweet memory, Sweething! biggrin

I do the same as your mom, whenever a ladybug appears in my house I gently remove it and set it free. They are precious bugs to me for some reason but I abhor roaches. Such different energies we get, even from bugs. Good poems btw poetcorner. There's nothing like having a precious friend. Those friends last 4ever.

They are small, cute and have unique spotting. :hugs:

Ditto on the roaches, ewwwwww--they're ugly for starters!
