Just thought I'd take this moment to introduce my band to the funk fans of Prince.org!

I'm a school music teacher by day and semi-pro musician by night (and as some of you know, total Prince-geek the rest of the time LOL). The main band I'm involved with at the moment is called CHEAP FAKES. I play trumpet and additional keys/vocals. We're an originals funk/dub/reggae/dance/pop/rock band situated in South-East Queensland, Australia, and we've just completed our debut album Stones & Sticks:

I'm featured on trumpet throughout and also co-wrote a couple of the songs, including the title track. Things are really starting to take off for us. We've had some significant radio play on Triple J recently (Australia's most respected 'real music' radio station), just completed a mini east-coast tour, and are hopefully hitting the summer festivals later this year.
