NO LONGER YOUR EYES
My eyes have finished dreaming Fixed upon your wicked brow No longer do I find your scheming Fit my scattered fate, somehow
The years have left their scars Taught me what life should’ve shown Never get with boys in cars Who drive you far into the unknown
If it’s a case of now and then Flimsy layer of just because Merely a question of where and when Is that really reason for pause?
When I think of all that Can fill my heart and will I won’t waste another moment Until I know I feel
That moment when I touch The sacred part of me I used to like so much The One who was truly Free!
No longer your eyes Fixed upon my fate I don't hesitate To dismiss your lies
Only through my eyes can I see The visions you can not Only through my eyes can I see What you’ve forgot
I love you still But your eyes are blind To the beauty of what is real
My life awaits...
No longer your eyes Fixed upon my fate... But my own! [Edited 7/18/10 20:11pm] | |
