UNEASY...EXISTENCE
FREEDOM…just another word for nothing left to lose? Or something undefined In the uneasy existence of the U.S. of A. And around the world…?
FREEDOM…what does it mean in the here and now When jobs thought secure have been farmed out overseas When people on the borders bear arms Because they feel so threatened
When the Sheeple of America Wake up to find finally That their American illusion Of the American Dream No longer exists…
That it has been eroded And corroded for decades…
It started when our fathers and brothers Lost their manufacturing jobs in the 80s Now our personal information is Processed, filed, converted overseas By specially trained staffers With anglosized names and accents Who say they direct you to local locations Mere blocks away…
It is a WTF moment in time When you realize that Globalization means Colonization and control For the peons of the world
No longer in marginalized countries But in your own Where the real color that counts Is GREEN…and not eco-friendly But Bank-friendly…
If I win the lotto this week You will shake my hand And be my best friend for The next 20 years… Then I am considered free…
20TEN is a defining year Year of slavery it is For those in debt Those who work and find That their parents’ American Dream Has become their American Nightmare.
So, what does FREEDOM mean today? Free to do what? To live how you may? Is it still true that hard work and education Pay their way As they once did?
It is a different world… FREEDOM still exists… But today You have to pay for it… In more ways than one.

Your poems are timely and onpoint. This would be an excellent spoken word poem.
much respect! | |

Thank you so much! I don't think my poetry is where it once was or where I want it to go, but if it touches some people--can't ask for more! | |
