Getting you poems/novels published...

Has anyone on here ever gotten any poetry or novels published. If so how did you go about it, and what kinda stories do you like to write? My goal is to be published in the next two to three years.
I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.

it was years ago now, but i self published, put together my own books, took them to border's books, barnes and nobles, and local stores, and they put me in the local authors section and i did very well that way. and i would send in my poems to the newspaper and articles to be published. i never really had any trouble. it was really easy. but this was back in the mid. 90's through year 2002. haven't done as much since then.

A few of the orgers in the Artists forum claim to have.
Their poems are rather dreadful sometimes though so I'm not 100% sure if they're telling the truth.

Try posting a thread in their to see what your response are. They never wander in here.

Can you elaborate on the self publishing route you took?

I did the same thing as Kim, I self published. All my books are poetry not stories.

I tried barnes and noble etc and they said they don't sell self-published books etc

try your local bookstore, give a few out at the library where people can read them, try you doctor's office or dentist office so they can put them where the magazines are etc.

try smaller distributors as well to get your books in stores.
