Recently I was surfing the net looking for prince info. I found a site talking about the guitars Prince uses. So I think of how nice it would be to play on a replica of his symbol guitar. With no hesitation I email the guitar maker in hopes that whatever the cost I would one day crank out tunes in respect to the master of modern funk. To my disappointment the tunesmith won't let anyone own a copy of his magic noise makers. Now here is my beef with my idol!!! Someone correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Prince own, record, and play live an Ibanez GB-10!! For any one that isn't familiar with this piece of art, it is a George Benson model. And he has raved about this guitar in several guitar magazines. If anyone has any input on this please respond. If any one can help me email me at csharp57@hotmail.com

Both ways; neither is to blame, you just have to find other ways of getting one...

Would'nt it have something to do with the fact that the is actually a copyrighted trademark?!

I also think that someone else playing a guitar is going to look pretty silly!! Cloud guitar you can just about get away with, but Habibi? I don't think so!

Its not about the design of the guitar. thats just for the show. Do u think he uses that symbol guitar in the studio?
He uses more then one brand guitar. I saw him play on a fender, gibson and Ibanez.
And plz, dont go buy a prince design guitar, that guitar only looks good on one person.
I saw some musicians (top 40 bands) playing with a prince design guitar. that really looks silly. LOL

He does use the guitar "Habibi" in the studio!! He's even introduced it before soloing on some cuts - it has the best sound of any of his guitars for soloing, IMO!

Agreed, the shape of an electric guitar has little or no bearing on the sound at all - it's mainly where the pick-ups are placed, which pick-ups are used along with which strings and then the electronics! But, guitars will sound different and Prince has a certain sound nailed with Habibi!

As we both said - anyone else playing one is just going to look a bit stupid with such a personalised guitar!
