LOOKING DOWN ON EARTH

Oh, full moon
Looking down
On ancient times
And new

Telling us when to wax
And when to wane
When to rise
And then to fall

Mistress of recreation
And procreation
Mankind has forgotten
Your given power

The pull of primordial tides
The wash of changeable moods
The light illuminating
The desert strait
Of the human soul

Oh, moon
Once you were a goddess
To be worshiped
For your luminous attraction
Now you're a second-rate curiosity
Not worthy of our reaction

Oh, full moon
Passing swiftly overhead
Will you forsake us
Leave us forgotten
As we forget our dead?
Leave us left alone
In the dark and dread?

Oh, full moon
Looking down
On ancient times
And new

What changes on
The earth do you observe
What do you see
That we
As beings
With limited vision do not
What changes to be wrought
Do you observe
And, we, do not?

Oh, moon
In your view
Predicated through the ages
Will denizens of the earth
Wallow in the mire and muck
Struggle to awaken in time
Or will we choose
To self-destruct?!

I'm seeing through your perspective!
It's wide ...and lucid! I like the view whistling
