This particular painting (24x36") will be in the $600-$700 range. I won't know exactly until it is complete. I think I will have this professionally scanned for prints, which of course will be less.

I really found the turbulence behind the adult interesting as you added the colors in the background...made me wonder what she came from, and what the child and the music mean to her, because the red tones near the child are calmer.....I have seen your other work, but this was the first I thought of the history of the two in the picture...and love that you showed the process. Thank you!

The painting, for me (I say for me because I don't think a painting only has to mean what the painter intended, I've had people find themes in paintings that never crossed my mind and I was like that makes total sense!)...for me, I painted it with the thought that the child is gaining something from the guitar lesson(s) (skill, love of music, companionship, mentoring, guidance, confidence...etc), but the adult is gaining just as much, if not more, from passing these things on.

It's always interesting for me, to hear what people see or feel from my work because as I mentioned, sometimes it may be something I didn't see during the process and I start to wonder how it got there. Subconsciously? Accidentally? Both??

I also appreciate that you wonder about the history of the "characters" in the story, because my work almost always begins with a sentence, or phrase, or title. I may not know the beginning or end, but I like to think that what is on the canvas is just a snapshot of a larger story.

You began and took out the green vines, which would, to me, be growth, but the woman's background started out much more edgy and violent, if you will, with the colors, and by the time you completed it, the colors and background had smoothed out the closer they became to and through the guitar and the girl...transformation....
