DreamFirstBorn, Jew did another radio interview regarding his "Journey of a Life Time" adventure with democracy now radio yesterday. We can't find the stream or podcast of it but Jew tells us he recorded the interview with his camera. Says he will post it when he can. I did hear it live and herd him say something about prince.org. sounded like a shout out to me.

Just herd from DreamFirstBorn, Jew... He is just about to arrive in Cincinnatti, OH. He says he will be getting there at about 7pm tonight. He says he got caught in a serious thunderstorm last night but managed to stay dry. His camping skills are inproving. He also says to look for some new videos and photos. He will be attending a CS party tonight and then will be doing some volunteering work over the weekend with a homeless shelter.

So i am now in Cincinatti, Oh and i just finished volunteering at a homeless shelter. I must say i was a bit overwhelmed. I had to go outside a shed a few tears. what got to me most was the fact that there was so many people there who had no choice to but to be there, where as i was "homeless" by my own choosing. Everyone there had smiles on there faces and was generally having a good time. I spend time playing cards, Spades. Though i am a good player at it there was this one guy, Travis, who just kept kicking everyone's ass. I asked him why he was homeless and he told me that he use to work at Dolly Madison and they closed down the plant and afterwards he pretty much lost everything. He has been unable to find work. I asked how he liked living in the shelter and he told me that he didn't live there but only came in the mornings to eat and at dinner time. I asked him where he slept and he said where ever he could. I asked him why he didn't stay at the shelter and he told me that it was because he didn't want to be consider Homeless. I asked him what he ment by that and he said that with him not staying there he was someone who was doing his own thing. I felt this understanding of him.



The shelter had kids come in from a local high school and i talked with some of the students. I asked them why they were doing it. A couple of guys said they do it because they wanted to do something to give back to the community and then some others said they were doing it just for school credit and didn't feel like they were getting anything out of the situation. They mostly stayed together playing ping-pong and pool with each other. I felt they were taking advantage of the situation, and weren't trying to learn anything from the experience, but who am i to judge.

There was a girl from a college who was taking photographs for her photography class. I wanted to take photos but i felt strange doing so because in some way i felt like i was invading the privacy of the people there. so i asked Jesse, that is the girls name if she would send me some of the photos she was taking and i would post them and give her the credit for the photos. she said it was cool.

It was very hard being there. Most of the people there thought that i was a client there and kept asking me for my shelter pass and one guy thought i was 50, he said he was joking but i took it kinda ruff. I was offended that they thought that i was a client but at it made me feel unconfortable. when i told them i was a volunteer they were surprised and some thought i was just making it up to hide my need of assistance. It made me think...

am i homeless and using this "journey of a life time" to hide my need for assistance. NO, but it still made me wonder.

last night i had a dream. it went like this....

I saw the face of a man and it was beautiful and pure. When i went to touch it i began to dissappear. When i asked him why it was so, he said to me, that the world was not ready yet for me togo, but soon it will have no choice, stay focused on my voice and i will continue to show you the way. You are almost here.... don't give up now.... then i woke up.

i am going to eat something now and then out as my host is going to show me the sites...

Just read your blog and all I can say is good luck buddy, keep safe and I will be following you all the way. (not literally of course, I'm in Australia!).

I always enjoy reading about people that do these kind of things. The thoughts that must pass through their minds and the many experiences they probably run into let alone the long boring stretch of roads in the midwest and Nevada I can't bare driving on and they have to WALK it. Truly amazing.
