Hi,
I'm not a Smashing Pumpkins fan,but I may check them out after hearing this. Nice guitar playing. Your vocal styling reminds me of Julian Cope. What inspired this particular cover? my phone is heavy

Thank you, I wasn't sure about the vocals..it was the first time I ever sing, so I was like "it's the worst vocals ever" This song is from SP's debut album "Gish" (1991, very psychedelic rock/grunge record). Original version has nice haunting and dreamy atmosphere..I love that song mainly because of memories of one girl I knew..it's lyrics has a little bit personal meaning to me..

I'll definitely check it out now. Seriously,on the first listen the vocals really go with the instrumentation. Don't be so hard on yourself, leave that to the critics.Just give it. I'm not a musician, but I comment when I hear something interesting. And the story behind the inspiration always takes it up a notch. Thanks for sharing. my phone is heavy

cool voice for a rock song. You should try to play on acoustic. Clean guitar works better with drums and bass.

Thank you very much I have just my copy of Les Paul, the Epiphone LP-100. I wanted to buy some cheap or used acoustic guitar, but after all, Jeff Buckley played clean guitar on some of his best tracks without bass and drums and it sounded pretty cool.. That was the sound I was trying to achieve on this track.. But in the future I'll get myself some good acoustic guitar

Listened to "Crush" and I can hear why you were inspired.. For some reason I had been blending them with Blind Melon. my phone is heavy

Tonight, Tonight is from Mellon Collie album I love that dreamy atmosphere in Crush created by the bass guitar supported by that echo guitar..I can't tell if my version is worse, but I feel that without the bass, guitar solo and everything else it's a little bit different song with different emotions..

WOW.
I love athmosphere and emotions of this song. I like nuance of your voice and the arrangement of those guitars. (I don't understand guitars. I can't write about it but I like it) This song is absolutely perfect for me. Good job Mr.Z.

Thank you.. It was recorded in my friends studio on the first take (you can hear that I coughed at the end of the 2nd verse ). Some kind of beautiful mistake

do you think you'd cover anything from Siamese Dream?
I could take or leave Gish, but SD is probably my favorite record ever

I'll try it. But if I couldn't get to the studio, I'll try to record it at home - but the sound quality won't be as good as on "Crush".. [Edited 8/9/09 9:49am]

[Edited 8/9/09 9:49am] don't make the mistake I've made of getting hung up on sound quality. It's a killer. Better that you would have good songs and ideas and stuff. Quality of sound should come last!

Wow. Great job. I'm a huge Pumpkins fan and you did the song justice. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Thank you, squirrelgrease! It's nice to see more Pumpkin freaks here on the org I'd like to know Corgan's view on this cover - I guess he forgot that he wrote this beautiful song Heard it live only once on the Mashed Potatoes box set.
