ceramics deals with clay as a basis, its the earths most basic natural substance, it can be liquid or dry. Start with ceramics and learn to feel and understand the nature of clay. To create you need to have a medium and starting point. Mold it in your hands, add stuff, paint it. dye it, it is the building block of our architecture and the substance of our fine art. Clay is phenomenal. If you are not inclined toward 3-d art then try every medium of paint, try many surfaces. A course in ceramics will teach you all of this. I hope this helps. In the end - to create something unique requires you to go out on a limb and 'feel' what you are doing. There is no right or wrong in art.- best wishes, S. walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous | |
