Introducing: Jasmadonic. Free MP3's. (UPDATED, WITH BETTER VOLUME ON MP3)

It's been awhile.

This is one of my first few tracks I've made since "retiring" from my other "day job". There's more to come.

'Bout time I got my a** back in the music.

Jasmadonic is the name of the band. It's me, primarily, with two of my friends who contribute some lyrics and riff ideas.

The song is called "Shadows". It's a 6:20 second funky-loopy song with some pretty interesting lyrics, especially considering that it's me.

Check it out, let me know what you think.

Update: I just uploaded an instrumental trancefunk stomper called Oceanic Pillows. Click the same link above to listen to it!

Dont play Oceanic to your wife..you KNOW she hates those handclaps. Laaawd...

I like it man. Seems like it can be something very intresting. I like the synths in the background..they can go on forever and just change the beat or just leave them in acapella for a while. I like it alot...it kinda goes on for a while without changing too much..i'd like to hear just a little bit of different direction...it needs no lyrics...which I think would take away from it totally.

Shadows -
Is this all you on the vocals? I never heard you quai- rap before. This kinda sounds like an old school west coast demo or soemthing. I dont know where to put it. I like hearing you in your natural vocal more than anything. It sounds ok, the chorus is nice..I just think the production could be sweetened up a little bit..not to say all my shit is top notch or anything at all but the vocals kinda leave the beat hanging in the back.

So what are your plans with this project? Im excited. As I do not know anyone out here who will write songs with me other than the girl who has done songs with me 2 times. What's next?

You should check out "Lady Labyrinth" that I just uploaded today. You will like it.

Yes, that's all me on vocals on "Shadows". The vocals are a bit too hot on the mic- I recorded that before my homie got me hip to software. He showed me how to use it, so on the next few vocal tracks I record, the mix should be better.

The sound quality of my recordings has always been low budget. But I am low budget.....lolz razz

It was just one of those that after I put the reverb on it, I thought that it sounded so interesting that I didn't want to add any. I should do a version with vocals though, just to see how it sounds.....

Thanks for listening!

Slave2daGroove

Glad to see you back and doing it!

Interesting stuff...in tregards to the first song;

Suggestions; keep your intro shorter and then change it up a little after you do the verse. I mean, I love the groove but it seems to want to go somewhere else. Your break down can still stay but you need a chorus or a third part to really make this song solid.

The other two are cool loops with some interesting stuff over top but the repetition has lost my interest. Unless you're going for Dance Club and then I need to hear some kicking bass drum under everything.

I know it's work in progress, that's why I'm adding my twocents

Thanks for sharing!

I'm going to study my workstation guide some more. I used to know how to copy measures, insert new measures, then revert back to the main part of the song. On my old song "Candidate 4 The Party" I played every track out through the entire song including the change-ups. I have a few others that I did that on.

Thanks for suggesting that. I'm gonna hit the books!
