Drum Machine?

So I want to start making songs. The recording for now is mostly going to be on my laptop. I've researched a bit about some of my options like a real drum machine (the boss dr. rhythms, rolands, alesis) or I could go with a computer program like fruity loops etc. My budget is going to be up around 200-300 (keep in mind im not buying new, used on ebay). Any suggestions?

Garage Band Jam packs have a lot of bang for the bunk. Also look for Linn or Korg drum sounds on the internet.
