I wrote this a couple months ago, just as jotted notes after an English class, and gave it a first draft last night. It's still a work in progress, and I'm looking for some feedback on how to give it more clarity while keeping its (sarcastic?) tone:

We wouldn't be as queer
Nor so merry

We wouldn't be so D.I.N.K.y
So then our cash
Would go to our kids
Not on the next gay bash

We'd have less fun
Overall, just like you
Let the boss conscript us both
And do patriotic, too

Give us this one thing
And then we'll be miserable
Unless you just want
To suffer indivisible?
