Drum Program/Home Recording Help

So as evident by my synth thread, i'm looking to make some music, i need a good drumming and recording program. I googled searched and found a few free ones, but im too sure so i have a few questions.
What are some of the good free ones for both?
Is there an all in one kinda recording program that has a good drum machine/program?
Should I spend the money and get a real good one of each? And if so what are they? (I am quite serious about this).

P.S. for the drumming I'm going to be using some WAV linn drum loops. Next semester im hoping to take recording 1 (music industry major) but I want to get started now because i got a buttload of ideas.

hmmm.... freebie drum programs... all in ones...

U want an all-in-one? You may have to pay for it but only one word if you're on PC - REASON... If U're on Mac - GARAGEBAND.
