To The Two Ladies, Thanks (written today) This happened to me tonight, and I immediately sat down where I was and wrote it out, so it's still a little raw for me...trust me, writing this poem was the most productive way I could have handled the situation ("If a man is considered guilty for what goes on in his mind...Prince said that.)
To The Two Ladies, Thanks - by Eagle Bear I'd like to offer a word Or two of thanks to two Ladies, who through their tastesless thoughts Helped me decide just what to do Because one of you said You were "tired of looking at his face" I bought the book by Obama: Ladies, thanks for stating your case I will get to read about Some "Dreams From My Father", yes And be able to relate even more To a man who with words gives caress Every time I pick it up Good will I will remember Which you showed by placing another book Over both copies' covers His image is so much better Than what for eight years has has held our gaze It's better than the hockey mom Who's lost in Orwellian maze Maybe the reason why You can't bring it up with your son Is because he tells you just the same And you can't win the argument, hon But you know what they say If people go to such lengths Then there must be somethin' to it It really must have its strengths But I will wish you well Instead of wishing you ill When the one who's name is blessed takes office Of his face you'll really get your fill ©2008 Eagle Bear | |
