Online CD Listening Party this Weekend Hey ya'll!
My band's CD was supposed to be released Friday, but there have been a few technical hold-ups on the manufacturing end, delaying it by about a week. But. . .we're having an online listening party anyway this weekend! The band is Musique Noire and the CD is "Good Hair". Our site is www.reverbnation.com/musiquenoire If you're interested in acoustic jazz/world music--come on over to Reverbnation and check us out. I plan to stream the entire album from Friday, Sept. 12 until Tuesday, Sept. 16. You have to be a fan to hear the full tracks, non-fans get 30 seconds. To sign up as a fan, click here: http://www.reverbnation.c...email=true Here are the names of the musicians who played on the project: The band consists of me on violin, Leslie Deshazor Adams on viola, Leah Lucas on viola and violin, Mark Sawasky and JoVia Armstrong on percussion. The special guest musicians are Cecelia Sharpe on cello, Naima Shamborguer and Angela Celeste May on vocals, Marion Hayden, Kerry Lacy, Pathe Jassi and James Francis on bass, Rydell Chavez Smith, John E. Lawrence, Michael DeLorean and Michael Gabriel on guitar and Julien Labro on accordion. The track “La Fiesta”, includes the flamenco dance steps of Valeria Montes (“La Chispa”). You can Google any of these folks if you want extra info. I hope some of you stop by this weekend and check us out. And I appreciate your feedback! You playing the Russel Industrial Center art thing this weekend?
If so, when and if not where do you play live in the D? Love the music and I think the live show would be kickass.

No, we're not playing there. We've played at the Jazz Cafe and a couple of festvals, but we stopped for awhile to finish this project. We're working on a CD release celebration and then we'll be out and about for gigs and touring. Glad you like the music! Yes, audiences seem to really enjoy our live show--we're anxious to get back out there!

I'll post when the actual "in person" CD release party is here in Detroit--we're still in the process of hooking it up.
