Ants, and bees (not mentioned here) do work well together...
one of the lower forums of life(insects) do know
community and working together to keep it going.

They don't have any social life, but oh well lol

Humans however should be able to work well together,
plus have conversation and social activity....but it
doesn't always seem that way.

lol

In a community that works well together, when one stalls or slows down,
another member takes over....sorta like a gaggle of geese when they fly.
Where humans are concerned, there are emotions which sometimes
take over, making a difference at times.

Thanks obsessed,
Sometimes it's just an image that unfolds later.
But being,
In certain enviorments/situations and having the ability to "fly".

"away like a butterfly"?...I see change in motion.

I detect a sense of restraint in your words - did you intend them that way?

"This...
Is earth
Where you can't say what you want.
You can if you want to,..just don't offend.
You can work all day, you'll sweat to the bone---->
Punch out..and you go home.
You can speed on the freeway,
But it's not a freezone.
You're paying too much,
for the gas that gets you home.

Nothing but a zoo out there,
Nothing but a zoo.

And with all this technology,we still play old-fashioned games.

Nothing but a zoo out there,
With a cage for me and you.

People are killing those who stand for peace.
Why won't they let them talk?
Let them talk at least.
Where is the Love we all talk about?
Then turn our cheek
Only to scream and shout!

:?News?:..talking about the clothes they wear,
talking about the color of their hair...
Please,.. don't take me there.
And with all this technology,we still play old-fashioned games.

Nothing but a zoo out there,
Nothing but a zoo.."

I would have to say that's an acurate detection. cool

I wrote "the lion"2 years ago.The working title was "Nothing But a Zoo".The poem has been re-worked twice.First as "the bear",now "the lion".For instance,in the opening line,"America"has been changed to "Earth".It's one of my poems that I feel will be in constant transition.
The restraint/hesitation is deliberate though.

It's nice to know the background of your poem, The Lion...
knowing how long ago it was written and the changes it's
gone through, gives it a slightly different slant.

I feel a lot of personal strife in the poem, as well as
a kind of universal message....what do you see as being
"old-fashioned games"?

Thank you Obsessed.
I appreciate your comments.
It's nice to have bears and lions when the butterflies give way to stagefright.

In this poem the "old- fashioned games" is used to describe a society's unwillingness to advance it'self.Even when the technology to do so exists.
