Darker Hue (Version II) Imagine how the darker hue
of one human being can be hated by so many in the world just for the innocence of their existence, yet deserving of their freedom and space in the world, and despite it all, with the strength of their spirit, they continue to overcome obstacles and leap boundaries. Sadly, we live in a world of humans with cold hearts and souls akin to empty shells, not welcoming of compassion, and lacking the patience or the willingness to learn how to embrace the differences and similarities of humans outside of themselves, and so they choose to hate. These perpetrators of racial hatred allow fear of the unknown to justify their wrongs instead of what is right, while remaining blind to differences and accepting blankets of false truths and fears, as a comfort to their own realities Their egos refuse to go beyond their insecurities and instead express words of hate and insults, as though their words of malice and venom will grant them a special place on a higher plane. Little do they know, that they are no more above or beyond humans of a darker hue in which they spew their hatred to. No golden wings or status of King or Queen will be granted to them. No oceans or rivers will divide for them to walk through, No castles will be built in their names. The sun will not stop rising, nor will the world come to a complete stop and bow to them. Their words of scorn will never part seas nor move mountains or valleys, as they continue to drown in their own fears and false truths of their so-called superiority. Very nice. I happen to just be starting a History class who's timeline begins in 1865, and so I'm in that mindframe exactly. Also learning about the kind of history my childhood textbooks didn't print. So what you wrote is very timely to me. Thanks for inspiring me. | |
