Musicians! Which Prince song do U find it most fun 2 play along 2? 4 me it's a choice of these depending on my mood!
Endorphinmachine Zanalee The Truth (Acoustic of course!) Purple Rain (just the solo!) I've just noticed that all of these songs (bar Purple Rain) are based on the same chord structure! lol I must be 2 lazy 2 play anything other than an E, A or B! hehe Right now though it's definately Endorphinmachine! It's so much fun with a stereo turned up LOUD and throw some distortion on the guitar and whack it up 2 11!!! The only ones I've tried to play along to are:
Anna Stesia Computer Blue I love singing Sign O the Times. I always sing a back-up harmony that I made up. I also dig singing along to the Theives in the Temple (Remix). "I'm talkin' bout the kinda love that can move a mountain The kinda love that can part the sea..."

On the keys I love playing Ballad of Dorothy Parker, Strange Relationship, Starfish and Coffee, Slow Love, Purple Rain, Nothing Compares 2 U, Under the Cherry Moon, Adore.
On guitar - Let's Go Crazy, When U Were Mine, Pop Life, The Truth, The Cross, Joy in Repetition (anyone else noticed that the solo in this is almost a rip of Frank Zappa's "The Muffin Man" - it's scarily close!), Endorphinmachine, Interactive. On drums - you name it! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

I wish I was a better piano player, but since my instrument is violin, I usually fool around with all the Prince tunes with strings--Pink Cashmere, Screams of Passion, Raspberry Beret, Take Me with U.
I've recently taken up jazz and blues on the violin, so I'll probably work a few more tunes in there. . .

The very first one I really put time and effort into learning was "Computer Blue" back when the PR album was new. It's a really good song to stretch out with on piano. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Call it basic, but I really dig playing along to 1999. The synth chords are very easy but still funky when matched with the other instruments, and I really like to loop the end measures and play some synth and sing along with "paaartay".

There was always at least ONE Prince song in my set when I would do a gig...
The Beautiful Ones is an all-time favorite... and years later, it still gets 'em all sweaty wet and screamin! hehe.

I havnt replyed to this thread yet because I wanted to think about my answer. But I cant pick one, I love them all & it depends which instrument Im playing.
As you can see, my inability to pick one of his songs is making my Prince tribute take even longer lol
