Suburban neighborhoods are not exempt. I love well placed, thought out graphic messages. *personal property* has always been a no spray zone as far as i'm concerned.. Oh, and I'm not a tagger But.... When you see it,what's your first reaction? If you specialize in graffti, let us see it. I used to dabble. Very true, Graffiti is an art, a form of expression and I've seen so many that have deep messages. Many people don't appreciate it as art. I remember when many of NYC trains were spray painted with graffiti all over them, but now you see very few, depending on what trains you take. I'm in NYC so you see it all the time. I agree about the well placed, thought out graphics though. [Edited 6/22/08 3:24am] I remember riding graffitti covered trains to ConeyIsland. I can't even describe the beauty as two totally graffittied<--sp? trains passed each other. Here in soCal,we have above ground transformer boxes for cable and telephones. They are everywhere... Average people have taken it upon themselves to paint these eyesores.. Here's one I saw today,
They're really interesting to look at when you're just sitting in traffic. I'll try to post more of them. my phone is heavy

Did your brother continue with another medium?
Theres been some grafitti artists commissioned in london this year, i think its in the tunnel near paddington station or somewhere, theyve been given the whole tunnel with some famous poeple making art in there. I love seeing trains with graffiti and i hate seeing whitewashed art, it seems sad to see a creation obliterated like that, i always wonder what was under it. I do too.. my phone is heavy

This graffitti is about 14 yrs old,it's on the wall of what was one of the most unique novelty stores in SD. It'll be gone shortly as a new store/shop takes it's place.::::: my phone is heavy

No he didnt sadly, there used to be a great wall of art at Croydon Bus station many years ago but it kept getting tagged, then it disappeared when they rebuilt the site. Its a shame as it enlivens a dull grey concrete wall and gives people subjects to think about while in the hundrum of city life. Grafitti art is encouraged in some boroughs in London and has been used on walls at hospitals, stations etc, commissioned stuff but still fairly true to its roots. Plus many schools still have their 80s art in the playgrounds but with change and progress everything is slowly disappearing. It was seen as ethnic and cultural and so those boroughs with a higher mix of cultures encouraged this art within the community. Tagging is a problem still and has had a resurgence in recent years in the suburbs, Its funny though how the younger kids still relate to real grafitti art like is available in mainstream products such as skate boards, yoghurts etc thats now been commercialised, they didnt experience it first hand but have an affinity with it. It should be collected and printed for prosperity as it reflects a time and a move forward in art and mediums used, technique etc. i still think many people see it as easy which is so far from te truth. The great grafittists were awesome in their delivery. walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous

I've tweaked it a bit,and hope to post some of those soon. What I love the most about doing graffitti is it's no limit free-form style. ::::: I'm looking for the right wall my phone is heavy

Hi all. I thought this was a cool topic so I've been collecting some grafitti (or, things that can be loosely considered grafitti) from around my neighborhood. Here's one for today... ![]()

Everybody wants 2 find Graffiti Bridge... Nah just kidding, I LOVE Graffiti!!! I think it's just like a song, very original and unique. I understand why people get mad though like rude sayings and doing it on other people's property but I love it. * MAY WE ALL LIVE TO SEE THE DAWN *

Absolutely, grafitti on any wall is okay...as long as you own that wall or have permission to spray on - but if I catch you doin' it to a wall I own, you're gonna catch an ass-whoopin'...PERIOD!

put it to you this way - if you get permission to spray a wall that's not yours, then yes, it's art, but if you don't get permission, then it's vandalism.
