Basic copyright question I'm sure some of you have copyrighted material so I figured someone may be able to shed a little light here.
I have a composition that I want to copyright. I've been browsing the official website of the copyright office and I've found that the basic fee is $35 if the forms are submitted electronically. I've also found an exhaustive list of fees on the site. I'm wondering, are any of these fees considered mandatory? I'm sure that some (or maybe most) are for special circumstances only but I'm wondering if the $35 fee is one of many small charges that automatically apply whether or not you request the services. Anyone? Thanks in advance if anyone has any info.

No, I believe that $35 is the only mandatory part... at least this was how it was the last time I filed... just one fee (it might have been $45).... I always file the SR form (sound recording)...
