Another college assignment, another new song Hey all,
As some of you know, Im studying for a degree in music. This term's assignment was a track constructed entirely from midi instrumentation (in laymans terms - shit computer sounds lol). Anyway, I passed the module with the following track, thought you may all like to hear it. For those of you who do not understand the first paragraph, please excuse the awful sounds & drums, it was the purpose of the college assignment to make a stripped down track using only computer sounds

This is boring. You show just instrumental. Thats good you play well but the songs are not songs they just instrumental.

Need full proper songs with classic vocals. How exactly do you do vocals with midi??  . I made the point of stating that I was only allowed to use the midi sounds in the computer for my assignment.
Instrumental music is an artform in itself, may not be your cup of tea, as we say in England, but its still a valid music form. I dont make music solely for people to listen to or sell records, I make it because its a lot of fun. Jazz music is a more instrumental format traditionally anyway. I find Vocals & lyrics are an easy way to express your feelings as you do it with words. But to express the same thing with only sound is more of a challenge to me. They all have vocals & lyrics in mind & now its not so impossible let me know what ya think

Big difference between being able to make the sounds to beeing creative the innovating and the classic! Like comparing Jacksons to Prince! As i say instrumental Jazz is kinda my forte but I hope to get going with my other songs soon. Hopefully Cubase will actually work when I finally get it installed. Gotta free up some hard drive space for a start as Ive just somehow filled a 70 gig drive lol. Will keep ya'll posted. God bless Lewis | |
