Me likey. It would sound really good in a giant room I think if you wanted to freak out on the instruments (mega fuzz on the guitars etc).

Anyhow, I hope everyone managed 2 listen 2 it somehow and state their opinions, yourself included. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

'dre I enjoy the excitement of unwrapping a CD.... but at Kmart over here they put these ugly anti theft stickers on the cover..... I dont buy many CD's from K mmrt even tho they're usually cheaper.... but this could just be irrelevant subject matter.... anyway... and why does endured sound like injured?

It sounds wierd Dre.
Like 1979 punk/new wave/funk/garage band recordings. (not the application garageband, but you know, back in the day, bands, in garages, recording). There's no bottom end - the bass and the kick stop at the midrange and that's it - what happened? The rhythm guitar on the right sounds almost like an a.m. radio - very very lo-fi. It's pretty cool overall, but very very retro. If you're going retro - I would say - dirty up the drums and the bass with distortion or overdriven tube compression or something and then pump some more bottom into the mix. But maybe that's just me. www.beaurocks.com Trees are made of WOOD!

But maybe that's just me. U got it! I ain't going for a 3-take studio polish. Basically, if I could multiply myself and make a live album, this would be the result. everything you hear is practically one take. Sadly, Myspace kinda reduces bit rates to 96-128kps, so U never get the full range of ANY track you hear - but then again, what would be the point of doing that when I got the whole album to come in its entirety? As for 'bottom', the recordings I've heard from you have a comparatively prominent amount of bottom level, but for me, because I jump around genres quite a bit thus, I use bottom in some tracks more or less than others - it's all about perception, but as U got the retro concept, it's mission accomplished IMHO, also, this ain't mastered! I did initially place a bitcrusher on the drums but it kinda supressed the push I wanted initially and I personally don't like using too much distortion unless absolutely necessary - just my vibe You got the concept though and that's what counts hence the albums subtitle "New Directions In Vintage Music" You think this is weird? U aint' the only one, when I got the other session player to do the album on Sax, he was pretty freaked out by the concept too - God knows how he did what he did! Now that's the kinda criticism I am accustomed to! 'dre [Edited 2/4/08 20:14pm] [Edited 2/4/08 22:48pm] Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

yeah - I thought about that - either my headphones hide the bass so I compensate in one way or the other - but - to be sure, I compared your track to my mp3 of Party Up - figuring that was about the same kind of direction of sorts, same headphones, same everything ... and yeah - there's not a lot of bottom on that one either (in my world haha) so maybe you are right. but still. you ALWAYS need more bottom. That's my theory. I DEFINITELY like the raw vibe to it all. I want to do the same kind of stuff- just lay into it. Good job. www.beaurocks.com Trees are made of WOOD!
