I use fruityloops as my main drum machine interface....and I also use Adobe Audition quite a but. And what I need is something that I can record with. As in, directly from keyboard (or guitar or whatever) directly into USB/computer. I need to know what type of cable I'll need (brands etc. would be helpful) and if I'll be able to record, direct from an instrument into fruityloops or Adobe Audition

yeah i'm having a few hiccups with that.....

i got a midi to usb cable
but i have to plug speaker output from the sound module
into my computer soundcard inputs then record that as a sample
then use it in fruityloops ather than direct.....

doesnt seem the easiest way to do things.....
plug this in pull that out..... power plugs arrrrr

google USB to MIDI if thats what your in need of,
RCA jacks are everywhere,,,,

i ended up having to travel to a D.J. shop on the other side of town to
get this cable... in Australia...
as the music instrument stores only seemed to have
midi to midi at the time...

The only thing is, it's made for guitar, but I'm wondering if I could use it for a keyboard too....my keyboard has an output for midi, but also an output for a regular 1/4" cable, like a guitar cable, so I should be able to do keyboard as well as guitar with it right???

Well i would take a shot at it if it was cheap enough
and there was nothing else that fit the description
of what your trying to do... .... it seems faairly simple...

you might lose a quality and gain
another because it is meant for guitars
and you are using for something else....

i dont really buy online.... i usually try
to talk to people that might have some idea
of what i'm trying to do... usually i just
get a different idea....

I'm gonna start taking pictures to these dudes
to see if that helps, coz i cant work out there language
and me talking just gets me a dumb blank "what tha"..look....
