what are some of the advantages?

Well for me
the main advantage is that it is "freehand" and it is the closest thing
to drawing or writing as you can get on a computer .... you can get the
same feel if you put a piece of paper over the top.... it wont replace
the feel of paint and painting or hands on work, but it does open up
more room for creating new ideas quickly and instantly.... without the
mess or need for all the resources..

The main drawback at the moment is the limitation and size scaling of my
17" monitor... a projector and nice clean wall would make this tool close
to perfect, at the moment you have to zoom in and out and move your work
up and down to do the finer more detailed work... rolling trackballs instead
of using mice/mouse actually relieve a bit of the tedium this causes...

and i still cant understand why the trackball isnt more popular.....
but thats a different ball game for another time maybe...

the other good thing is.. even tho this one is a bit
