Share your environment.... My Embrace
I love the snow, but not big on the icy cold and perpetual greyness you sometimes get during the season, so I decided to "embrace" the winter with my camera in an attempt to deal with it more effectively. Feel free to share your surroundings with us, whether you're in the midst of winter or summer right now.... First snowfall, taken at twilight..my backyard.... [b][Edited 4/30/10 9:06am]

Wow....that's really beautiful..it looks like some iceskaters and a few ice fisherman. That really brings back some wonderful memories...I used to icefish with my dad now and then....of course I sat in the car half the time warming up, but that doesn't count... Now Emile, got any photographs to share in your neck of the woods?

This morning the trees were heavy with frost...the wires sort of ruined the
effect, but I hope to get more shots of the preserve behind us before too long, and some closer shots of the ski hill behind us without wires interfering. Please, everyone feel free to share shots of your neighborhood, winter or summer. I'd love that.

Thanks, I love the view from my backyard...the pic makes me think of the Robert Frost poem, which I love as well... Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village, though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there's some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. ~

Is the snow still on the ground you ask??....take a look! These were taken yesterday about 1:00 in the afternoon... Yeah, I know, very dark because it's been overcast and grey here for about a week now.....this is the natural lighting... I didn't do any touchup.
