It's official!
This week I finally went live on the iTunes store and other music download services! The cd of original songs I quietly put out this summer, "Chill Room", has landed it's way on iTunes (USA, Canada, UK/EU & Japan), Napster and E-Music.

The EU store covers Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland (Republic), Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. I'm in 20 countries - It boggles my mind! Just do a search in the iTunes store for "Milty" or "Chill Room".

And for all your international friends, please pass it on.

One AM Piano and Little Wing both sound nice, plus I like some of the grooves (Shut Up & Open Your Mind, I think). So do tell, how do you get your work on iTunes? What's the process?

"Richard" seem like some nice spacey electro pop tune.

"Le Fonk De Grove" also sound like it came from somebody's basement in Philly in the 1970's. I can never work with the organ for some reason. I like that too.

How did u do this? Was it hard to get on itunes (if u dont mind me asking) ?

I think this, more than anything that has come along (even the covermount idea) will revolutionize the music industry. When people don't even have to go to indie music labels, but can sell their own music themselves, with no one to pay except the house, that's something.

and the art. i have this thing about the cover art. the pictures and graphics also add to the experience for me.
i have two friends on iTunes (Khadijo and Mathew Joseph) and they do a good trade.

Yeah, these aggregators save a lot of hassle - I'm not bothered with the idea of pressing up CD copies until I know that there's enough demand based upon download sales. You also don't have to deal with getting a MCPS license (here in the UK, it costs about £1,000) and distribution is not an issue. The only problem is marketing and promotion - it's probably the only reason why people bother with major label deals, owing to the amount of money they'll pump into that if they decide to give you a marketing push.

I like "Lawdy Lady" and purchased.

You don't really have to worry about copyright proof - I'm presuming that you're based in the US, so you could register your compositions with the Copyright Office, but you don't have to. You own the exclusive rights to your compositions by having written them.

Cool. I knew about copyrighting things to my birth name, but didn't know about that. Still will copyright them, though, cuz in the case of the music, that would be important, but would copyright the album as one symphonic track or something. I'd do that with the album I'm working on now, cuz it is sorta like one body of work, but don't want to do a "Lovesexy" (as much as I love that album, I only just now was able to track it.)
