Check out my newest song "I'll Return" (Demo)

recorded with my somewhat stuffy morning voice. This is a demo with no overdubs or anything. Just myself and piano on one track with reverb effects.

It takes moxy to put yourself out there like this. This sounds like a clip from a broadway musical, maybe nice in context but by itself it's kind of odd.

Be careful screaming like that...not good for the mic or your throat...

Thanks for listening to it. My throat is just fine though biggrin ... I was screaming since the first day I arrived on earth and I haven't really stopped since.

Well I've taken vocal lessons and classes at an academic level and screaming like that will develop nodules on your vocal chords. This will, in turn lead to no more singing or painful surgery, good luck.

Thank you groovy for listening and more importantly for calming my fears down about my throat. lol lol I've been worrying all day about it thinking up examples of people who scream and still have their voices. (my mind has been going "what about john lennon? he screamed a lot! lol what about michael jackson, what about... lol lol lol )

The thing is I know how to sing a certain way which sounds like I'm screaming but I'm really not straining at all. And this is nothing compared to how I sing in the car when I have privacy and don't worry about people hearing me... and you should see me when I play sports. lol

No I wasn't trying to sound like silver chair. lol, you always say that but I don't see it. Thanks for checking it out. I think I'm just going to record stuff like this for a while. Just me on the piano all on one track with one take.

I was thinking that was what you meant. I started thinking about doing this (I just did another song like this too) from listening to my John Lennon box set. I love to hear just John on his guitar singing. However the person that made go from thinking about doing this to doing it is...

I listened to the Beatles "Love" album today. If you haven't checked that out then ask Santa to bring it to you right now! It's cool. cool biggrin

When you first said Sananda I thought you meant the spiritual teacher Sananda (a lot of controversy over this site) ... http://www.askrealjesus.c...iment.html

then I found a musician going by the name of Sananda Maitreya... why did he choose that name lol. I'm trying to find some of his music.

Cleverly crafted pop tune...I hear Mercury / McCartney influence. Maybe some Todd too. My one suggestion is to re-record and remix it. With the right mix this could be a real winner. biggrin

I"ll remix it one of these days but right now I'm just going to make songs like this where I'm playing the piano and singing on the same track... I want the songs to be good enough where they don't need an arrangement or unique sonic texture, production, other instruments, etc... (like I was doing a while back)
Thanks for checking it out man. cool biggrin

its nice man. However it does need work. I agree with some of the others that it would sound nicer with some drums. it wold bring the song out alot more. Even though I cannot sing worth a damn I got the nerve, but I will suggest on working on your vocals with the scream. it sounds like some1 poked you in wich is different than if you are singing a rock song (or Prince or Chaka) and the scream is in clear and not right from your throat. I don't know how to do that and I got the nerve to talk though.
Please don't take our opinions as a stab torwards u. As I saw in the way u posted back to Slave2dagroove.

Thanks for your advice. I didn't take it as a stab from Slave2dagroove... he just made me worry thats all. The thing you gotta keep in mind is that when I'm singing these songs I am, in the back of my mind, saying to myself "oh no I hope anyone doesn't hear me"... because I am not in a sound proof room with total privacy I restrain myself.

Thanks for checking it out. biggrin
