Just had to have it after seeing it in P's hands. Even though the pickup switch is failing half of the time, I will never part with it. Later on I bought a 1974 Rickenbacker 360 12-string (Roger McGuinn-like, but not the signature model). Love the sound on that one. DDay2002

My main guitar right now is a Fender American Standard (the final year of that model -- 2000, I believe) with an ash body and maple neck. It's outfitted with a set of 12's (tuned to Eb) -- sorta like Stevie Ray woulda had it. And, I'm using Kinman Blues pickups to cancel out the noise and give me a nice Texas blues sound. The pickups are also great for rock 'n roll, funk, rhythm, jazz (get a nice hollowbody sound by dialing down the neck's treble control) -- you name it.
Before that, I was using a Charvette from 1990. No comparison. The Strat's so versatile, it covers just about all the bases. I'd wanted a Strat for years. So, my guitar is my favorite -- though I wouldn't mind a Parker Fly or Clapton Signature Strat...

I just love telecasters. Particularly fave is old (e.g. 60s) blonde teles. Lovely! I do love the old Gibson ES335 but you know what, I just can't play Gibson guitars, I've never found a Gibson with a neck and action that I could use with my small chubby fingers
If I was ever going to be adventurious and pick up a completely mad guitar, I'd love to check out the Parker Fly having heard so many good things about. To the guy with the PRS ... very posh! I'm jealous.

I'm a Gibson guy. Actually, the ones I own are Gibson imposters. My favorite is my Hohner "Les Paul" with a rosewood fretboard and a custom home-spun paint job.
I have a neck-through Epiphone (kinda looks like a PRS) that I bought because it was set up very similar to the Les Paul, but much lighter. Those 'Paul's can be tough on the back after a while... I have an Epiphone acoustic that looks like hell, but sounds great. I have a white Epiphone J bass as well. I also recently recieved a "Blue Angel" Cloud guitar. I'm afraid to play it much because I'm kind of a hack. It's so purdy. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Ian, Everyone's different.
Squirrel, play the hell out of that Cloud until it's not purdy. It should look played. [This message was edited Sun Oct 20 11:31:06 PDT 2002 by JamesMarshallHendrix]

[This message was edited Sun Oct 20 11:31:06 PDT 2002 by JamesMarshallHendrix] It really feels like it should be played. I'm just chicken. Maybe it's the painted fretboard. My fretboards tend to get kind of gnarly looking... If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
