I feel
The blindfold this war is wearing.

My feet
Feel the blisters
On the feet of the soldiers
Who have orders to keep marching

My heart
Feels the nails
In those crosses
On that hill in Lafyette

My blood
Feels the thinning
Of those who have had to sacrifice
Their medicines for bombs

My ears
Feel the fear
Of those mutant "elephant chihuahuas"
Stomping and barking
All over the American jungle

My voice
Feels the chagrin
From those who expect
People to believe this war
Came to mind only after 9/11

My throat
Feels the strangulation
Of all the red tape
That it seems it will take
For this war to end
