For musicians who use software to document, or write music - which program do you consider the best, and why?

I purchased Cakewalk Pro a few years ago, but have heard there are much better ones out there?

Share your thoughts on this, please?

I use Cubase.

Mainly because I've been using it for SO LONG (since the old Atari ST days) and I know it really well, all the keyboard shortcuts etc.

No real reason why I prefer Cubase apart from my familiarity with it... the sequencing and quantisation tools are all decent enough, the score editor is sufficient, the rollbar entry is fine, there are some nice features like the phrase synth which are fun to play with, and there are loads of nice plugins for it.
