So I'm deciding to major in either Music Industry, Music Technology, or Music Management/Business. I would like to know what kind of job opportunities and/or for which type of companies/people would I be working for. Thanks a bunch!

You need to think more about what aspect of the music industry in which you're interested. You could be working for a small independent company (including starting your own) all the way to a major and there are literally hundreds of different types of jobs on all levels. Do you want to work directly with artists, or behind the scenes? Are you interested in the making of a product, or it's marketing and distribution? If you're interested in working live shows--there's a few dozen jobs surrounding that area alone!

As for the type of people you'd work for--again, there's no one "type". It really depends on what area you're working in. Different people have different personalities. I think the only one thing that unifies most in the industry is that they love music. Or at least you would hope they do.

One thing I always tell my students, no matter what they major in: employers want people who can speak well, write well, get along with others and don't have to be baby-sat. They want responsible people who show up and do the job right and maybe put in a little extra (in the music industry, sometimes it's a LOT extra).

I suggest you do a little bit more research. The colleges you are considering that have those majors are a good start. Good luck!
