Whose your favourite org musician?

This thread is not a place for trying to outdo oneanother, just thought it would be nice to give some props to the great musicians we have here wink

I like Jason Dodson a lot. To tell you the truth, it was when he released "Nissy Kahlain's Rebirth" that I realised how good this cat actually is. Keep up the good work Jason, we'll have your site up and running soon wink

God bless

Lewis

I like pretty much everything I've heard so far, for different reasons of course, especially Cloud9, JDodson, and rio. I'll be looking up those other orgers sites soon.

Here is his band's website where you can download mp3s. I had to burn them onto cd right away so I could listen at work!!!

JDODSON

I have never heard Samuel, Vina, or Chewy, but I'm sure the music is great. My personal favorites are Cary Aria (Zum) and Cloud 9 (Lewis). I would love to hear more. There is a house and dance artist on here that I really like also, and he has posted before, but I can't remember his name. I will post it if I remember.

Peace,
JD

Thanx for the props, Lewis. I think I realized my own talent when I made that song...lol. I have ideas for songs like that all the time, but I didn't use to go with it because around here, people just don't get it. But, lately, I have said "screw it" and made whatever I want.

Peace,

Chewy's band is really cool, but the link on his profile doesn't work. I'll have to orgnote him about that. Chewy is a great drummer. www.chewymusic.com (click on the equation, thats the band he's in)

I'm anxious to hear Samuel's music, but I know how it is, I'm working on getting my stuff on the web too and I think I figured out a way. It's coming! It's coming!

Now I have to say that Cloud9 is an amazing talent. Many people have already said that, so it's like, yeah, Vina, what's new. I would read people going on and on about Cloud and I listened to some samples a while ago, I think I heard Hold On and the lyrics through me off. They're kind of pop-y, and I didn't have time to go deeper.

Well, this morning while making my breakfast I decided to listen to his tracks and I started at the top. Whoa. omg I really liked the first three, Phunckibitch, Where do I Begin and Waterfall. Hearing those instrumentals, which really showcase your talent, allowed me to listen to Hold On with a new perspective.

I'm glad I finally took the time out to listen to Cloud9Mission. It's beautiful that you are so humble and positive, yet sooo talented. You're amazing. Keep it up. music

Thanx mate smile Thanx very much for the kind words

The tracks with the vocals are a collaboration with a male vocal duo called Spirit. They hired a big studio & asked me to play everything. They wanted a poppy sound & I gave them it.

My instrumentals (soon to have my own vocals) are what Im all about. At the mo, I cant record vocals but Im promised by Stienberg that my studio problems will be sorted by november (which I dont believe because they said it would be July).

It means a lot to appreciated when my facillities are so limited. At the moment, you are hearing me playing live as its all I can do. No mixing & no studio techniques. So its very nice to appreciated in my rawness even though Im limited for what I can do - thankyou.

Hopefully come november I'll be able to say 'if you thought this was good, check this out!' lol.

Thanx again to the two of you & all my supporters. Your support is what keeps me wanting to record & get better as a musician.

God bless ya

IceNine... even though he won't talk about it. smile He is amazingly good and most likely he won't allow you to hear it. However, here is just one of the songs he has sent to me, and this one he actually wrote for me a while ago.

Satellite

Heather she says... she says
She never wants to see you again
And now you say
That you knew it all along
There was a time you felt so fine
And you'll feel that way again
Give it some time and you will find the things
That make you feel all...
Right...
yeah, yeah, yeah
They'll make you feel all right
yeah, yeah, yeah
It's only floating just above
But you're losing sight now
You'll never find it on the ground
Until you pull it down
Then you'll look inside and find it there
And you'll never let it go again
Because it makes you feel
It makes you feel all...
Right...
Yeah, yeah, yeah
It makes you feel all right
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Your love's a satellite

Well... my stuff is a bit of a cross between the Pixies, Paul Westerberg/The Replacements, Weezer and Elvis Costello... it is not Prince-inspired in any way, so I don't expect that Prince fans would be too into it.

You know what I'm saying?

My stuff sounds nothing like Prince. Besides, with all the styles Prince does, his fans seem to be pretty open minded about what they like.

You sent me a link to your stuff in an orgnote a long time ago... remember?

I dug what you were doing... did you get my response? I think I also asked if you used a Rickenbacker.

Tony (IceNine) wrote and recorded this for me a while ago... I've finally convinced him to let me post it... smile It was written and recorded in about an hour... amazingly fast! It's a demo and it's missing the last lyrics... but I love it! And, the song did work, it made me feel better. smile

I really dig cloud 9's stuff.

He's got a lot of heart and his versatility will most deffinately get him on a good road to a career in music.

Now his sound will only improve when he moves his butt to South Florida and gets himself in a real studio.

Hint, hint.

Yeah, this song is very rough and was recorded quickly, with each part being recorded first take and not redone... two guitars playing the same thing in stereo and one guitar doing the little arpeggio thing at the beginning. An exercise in minimal production, as the entire song (other than the intro) is just a guitar, bass, drum program and vocal.

Please forgive whatever mistakes you might hear...

Way to go, Heather... make me post the thing

EDIT: I just checked the link and the ATTBI site does not stream the file very well... the sound is messed up pretty bad... sorry.

Hello everybody & Hi Azure! :+)

It's nice to finally see some form of a "Musician community" here at Prince.org! I've come out of my semi-retirement of Prince.org & the place hasn't really changed much other than maybe this. The people are pretty much the same & the insanity is always present! :+) OK, I haven't really heard any MUSIC from anybody on here, may I please have a link or 2 to find the gold? :+P TAKE CARE EVERYBODY & SAPERE AUDE! :+)
