JONI

Check out Joni Mitchell's live album entitled "Miles of Aisles". This is basiclly, the blue print for the "One Night Alone" CD. Trip off the side with "A Case of You". This is when Joni kinda changed it up from the studio version on "Blue".

On a personal note, I gotta say, Joni Mitchell is so Fuckin' amazing! Her lyrics and melodies really blow my mind. My personal fav. is a song called "All I Want" from the album "Blue"

Joni is great, and I love this album. I love most of her music actually. My favorites are probably Blue, Don Juan's Reckless Daughter, and The Hissing of Summer Lawns.

evidently, not mnay people here give a shit about Joni...even though Prince's owes most of his accoustic styles to her.

If you haven't yet, check out her album "Both Sides Now." Totally new rendition of A Case of You and some other incredible stuff. Her voice sounds very smoky and husky, compared to her other albums. An absolutely beautiful album.

I am a big fan of Joni's as well, particularly the Court And Spark album. If you have not yet had the opportunity, listen to the song 'Down To You' -- it is a beautifully complex suite which (deservedly) earned Joni a grammy award.

While she has written some amazing songs and influenced many, I am not a fan.

I saw her open for Bob Dylan a few years ago and everything was open tuned.

Open tuning requires barring a fret and when you have a set list all with open tuning, it gets tired.

Why is this posted in the musicians forum anyway?
