So I ordered a .... uhm, Moog Voyager

Well "just" the rack model (Minimoog Voyager RME, 2000€-2400€), but it definitely surpasses my budget and what I'd need an analog monophonic synthesizer for. I thought my gear-harking days were long gone, and I constantly make fun of people who think getting more expensive equipment is going to make their music sound better (I'm a big freeware fan in general). But I've really lost my interest with VA synths completely - in fact I haven't really been able to listen to that softsynth garbage for years, let alone reach over to the MIDI keyboard to play that stuff myself. Real analog is real analog afterall, and you pay for that kind of circuitry.

It's not probably going to make my musical escapades sound any better or worse. Very likely the thing won't even suit the way I've grown to make music myself and would just often get in the way would I need to justify its price tag by taking it into constant use. But I've wanted a Minimoog since my teens, and now it's time to get one despite being totally broke. Guess I'm just nuts and confused.

Maybe I'll use it for late night funk doodlings.
