Bass Player Questions

looking for a good cheap commpressor... or techniques to boost volume when thumbing the d and g strings... I just can't keep the volume consistant with the E string... and I am getting sick of popping the 5th and the -7th...stuck on that plateau(sp) again...

Try thumping the bass on the very last fret on your neck. Gives a better sound & helps even playing. Check out http://www.aic.se/basslob/ for more info. wink

Try adjusting your pickups on the D and G side.

If its volume that's an issue, adjust the pickups. If you're looking for a cheap compressor that works well, get into the boss bass limiter. ( http://www.harmony-centra...er-01.html It works GREAT; especially on basses with non-active pickup systems like the old school Fendaz!
