Camp Jam

It might be a little late to squeeze this in this summer, but if you have kids between 11 - 1 and they like to rock, I highly recommend this:

My daughter is doing it this week and absolutely loves it. Her and four boys are going to tear up Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark at the Moon" at tonight's concert.

Yesterday, Liberty DeVito stopped by and gave them a drum concert. (He is Billy Joel's drummer.)

We are glad we did it and can't wait to do it again!

It was awesome! They had the concert - 16 bands played one song each. The talent was pretty good. I was surprised at the number of kids that played more than one instrument (you could be in more than one band).

My daughter was the youngest one there but that was of no consequence. Her band performed the Ozzy song and I thought they were great.

I really enjoyed watching some of the younger kids. There were boys that were 12 and weren't as big as the guitar they were playing. It was so cute.

A lot of the people I talked with were at their thrd, fourth or even fifth Camp Jam. It wasn't uncommon for kids to attend multiple weeks in one summer. There was not a single child who didn't have the biggest grin on their face.

I highly recommend this to any parents with kids that like to make music. There are two age-group camps, one for kids 7 - 10 and one for kids 11 - 17.

Best camp of the summer.

This looks really interesting, where was it?

Are you going to do the adult version? I can play Ted Nugent licks, that singer is at adult camp, then they have Carmine Appice? shocked

They have Camp Jams in several cities; we went to Houston because that's where we live.

I can't do the adult camp at the Rock n roll Hall of Fame but that looks so cool. If you go, I hope you have fun. I'd bet there will be appearances by a lot of famous musicians.
