Should every artist create one?
Is it essential to an artist's portfolio?

While I believe most artist at least attempt to do a self portrait
for some, the process can be too personal or vain.

It's the challenge of seeing the part/parts that represent the artist in a different medium,that I find interesting.

He was a fascinating artist.

Same for Pollock. Though he was basically challenging art and what we see as art, his work was also autonomous, so he lives in the drips.

After each item was glued,
several layers of polyurethane were applied.

18x24 mixed media
poster board,canvas& misc. items
the black oil paint on canvas took months to dry.

Potpourri... That must have taken a while to put together....
months for the paint to dry...wow....

I love the poem "Self Portrait" and especially the reading...
