I am trying to write english song lyrics, though english is not my native language. I am spending time at the org lately to enlarge my english vocabulary.

How do u write lyrics? Do u listen to silence untill the magic words rain down upon u from heaven? Or with a rhyme dictionary in your hand? Tell me.....

Usually through inspiration or desirous role play.
Or an outlet to Sexual frustration... (there are a LOT of songs! )

Recently, I write what's on my mind and it looks more like a diary entry. Not caring about rhyming, just what comes 2 my imagination. The reason I started this method because I get frustrated trying to rhyme and thinking of methaphors. Cool thing, by the time I finish, I come up with a chorus and ways 2 structure lyrics.

But sometimes I have melodies first and basically I sing nonsense lyrics based on what sounds right with the melody, and eventually they may or may not form into something meaningful.

I could see how it would be hard to write in a language that's not comfortable for you.
