I feel sooooo last year, but I've finally got a Myspace page up for my band, 52 Boyfriends. We're kind of a silly laptop-plus-guitars band who love Magnetic Fields, Pet Shop Boys and, of course, Prince.

That's okay. A lot of people have labelled themselves as "neofolk" on a lot of these kind of sites where the definition has been available, completely unaware of the fact that it's a nostalgic genre ideologically associated with neonazism.

I guess the safe bet would be not to use definitions you are not perfectly aware of what they stand for.
