Alright folks... I'm having a bit of a problem choosing which of my "children" will be (dis)gracing the new NFO project. I didn't want to submit a whole crapload of material when everyone else was only submitting a song or two. So I narrowed it down to a handfull of tunes that I think are pretty strong songs all in all (although some of them certainly need a bit of touching up at the mixing console). The rest is up to you. I can't play favorites!

Jason - you're welcome to upload any or all of these to the Project 4 page at Soundclick...

House Of Glass - This ones a pretty basic, late 80s-style, heavy rock song.

Untitled - Same premise as the above song, but a bit more "high-energy". No vocal track on this one yet. I can post lyrics if anyone wants to read them (not that they're "deep" or "poetic")

Think I Gotta Problem - Something a bit more "moody". Not a very good vocal take on this one. Doc's more of a "punk" style vocalist. Hitting the right notes isn't his strong point!

The Devil Made Me Do It - If the Sex Pistols and Chuck Berry ever wrote a song together this is what it would sound like...

Fr. Lonely - This one's a bit "heavier". Or at least it has a more obvious "metal" influence than the others. There was a lot of bleed-over on the vocal track, so I'll have to re-record Doc and re-mix the whole thing to make it more presentable.

Last but not least...

My Angel - WARNING: This is a very long song (10:13)!! Our stab at an "epic" love ballad. No vocal track yet. Again - I can post lyrics upon request.

FYI - these are all currently at 112 kilobytes/sec, which can be remedied easily enough in the near future. Now VOTE!!

Thanx all. Enjoy!!

Heh heh... And the crowd went silent! So am I to assume that I'm going to have to make my own decisions here? That's alright. Based on the previous projects I understand that I'm a bit out of my element. And I really appreciate Jason (and everyone else!) letting me submit something for inclusion. I'm going to call Doc (the singer) and ask him what he thinks.

Are we limited to one song per artist? Or could I worm my way in with two?

I'm not sure about the "more than one song per artist" thing....it just depends on how many songs we get submitted before closing time on the project. I haven't had a chance to listen to your tunes yet but I am going to listen on the drive home tonight wink

Thanx J. I was just a little worried there, as I had read something about a Saturday deadline. Didn't wanna get left behind! I actually just got off the phone w/ Doc, and he said that if he had to choose he would probably go with "Problem" (likely because he wrote the lyrics!), but didn't really care much either way. I'd really like to give "Angel" the exposure too - it is, after all, the sort of thing that "the masses" could swallow a bit easier (despite its length) - but I'm of the mind to just let other folks choose for me.

Let me know what you think! Thanx a bunch!!

Hey Maxx. I listened last night, and I must say that "Untitled" is my favorite, but I think "Angel" is fine just the way that it is! I like it....it could be a closer on the CD or maybe a middle of the compilation song as a contemplation song....

You mean without vocals? I do have a local rock singer picked out for the job, but if you like it as an instrumental...

I'll talk to Doc again later today - just to make sure he didn't have his heart set on Problem. I'll get back to you after the weekend. Hope I'm not holding anything up. Thanx J!

Whassup Mr. Groovy! Not much....just waiting til Saturday when I do another update on the Project! I hope Mr. NFO man can put something together in the next couple months- he's been very busy with more important things. Okay....

Does anyone have any artwork for a CD cover? Let's brainstorm and come up with some ideas. Maxx, did you make any decisions on a song for the project? Groovy and Obsessed, send me some music! jasondodson_inc@yahoo.com

Also, if there is anyone who wants to submit a track, send it to me when you get time at that email address above.

Peace!
