Show of Hands . . . . . .how many of you would have gone out there in the pouring rain and performed like Prince did at the Super Bowl? Better still. . .how many of you HAVE!?!?!
Since I play violin, I certainly *couldn't* have unless I used my electric. Even then, I'd be worried about electrocution!

Here in Minnesota, we have something called the Winter Carnival (Yeah, a festival in the middle of winter. Whose bright idea was this? ) Anyway, the Barenaked Ladies came and played it once, and they were out there in the freezing cold, playing their guitars with gloves on! As for the question, no, I haven't played in the rain. I would LOVE to, but yeah, I would be worried about getting a shock!

Spark, do you remember the Ice Palace of 1992?...a very special year for
the Ice Carnival because the Super Bowl was held here that year...I remember seeing it at night like it's shown here...it was actually awe-inspiring... Course you were probably a little tyke then.... That was one cold winter....burrrr... I was also stunned by the dimensions of that particular ice castle... The ice castle seen by the world had 12 towers, the highest standing 150 feet tall. The base of the castle was 249 feet wide at is widest point. Built with more than 25,000 blocks of ice, each block measured 22 inches wide by 42 inches long. The entire castle weighed approximately 16.8 million pounds. Illuminated by a colorful rainbow lighting system, the castle also included a sound system that played music during the light shows.

That's beautiful! It really was a Cinderella type castle, and it was soooo cold the night we saw it and yet there were hundreds of ppl viewing it...I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe they dismantled it when the Winter Carnival festivities were over...I can't imagine how much water 16 million pounds of ice would make...
