Well,I think you should first of all learn the basic
foundations of the chords.What's a major chord,what's a minor chord.

Suggestion if you have noone to show you get a dvd for absolute beginners.
Thy often come with books but with the dvd you see exactly how it's done.
Let the instrument become your best friend and just listen closely
how the notes interacts.
