A good horn player is so hard to find these days.

How about this for conversation?

Does anyone think that the over saturation of today's mainstream music over the last 15 years have poised our youth so that they'd rather be a hip hop artist rather than a real musician?

Think about it.
How would anyone under the age of 20 (right now) know anything about Miles Davis?

Drive by a high school and randumly ask a kid and see the responses you get. Total ignorance of anyone other than who's ever in the top 40 at the moment.

The term "Back in the Day" or "oldschool" to this generation is Pearl Jam and New Kids on the Block.

Have countless future musicians been lost due to over saturation of crap for so many years?

Who is going our next great and noted composer when most acts out now don't even write their own music?


Anyway...

A good horn player is hard to find.
I found only one good trumpet player down here (formally of "wildcherry" [Play that funky music white boy] and he was an ass.

So back to searching for a good horn player.

I played sax for around 15 years, but haven't had the axe for about 5. Looking to get back in the groove of things. Yamomma, I do agree with your take on it. Sad situation indeed.
