CAN ONE OF U KNOWLEDGEABLE MUSICIANS NAME THE TYPE OF BRANDS USED BY PRINCE IN REGUARDS TO GUITAR SOUND MACHINES ETC ... HOW DOES HE CREATE HIS SOUND SINCE IT IS MOST DISTINCTIVE. PEACE

It's all about how he plays... his personal style and techniques... thats the real "sound".

Like most musicians, wheather they indorse a product or not... they uses all kinds of things... guitars, effects, etc.

He has used many BOSS pedals for distortions.
He has some Dan Electro pedals in his arsonal as well.
He has used just about any model guitar and pick up combination you could think of... it really depends on what your lookin' for... Like I said, it's about his playing not his gear... he has alot of different sounds on different songs.

Keys used are Roland, Yamaha, Korg and many more...
Basses are very often Fender Jazz style basses and Warwicks.

All I know is the Linn drum machine..

I have a friend who's a proffessional guitar player and producer, and a few weeks ago he recorded something, and he wanted the sound of guitar from Purple Rain, so he used the Line 6 guitar effect, and downloaded a setup from the internet with that sound, and I gotta tell ya, it sounds like the real thing.
