I'Ve had my guitar since Feb and am progressing well but the one thing that i really struggle todo is the MPLS trademark scratch. Bearing in mind that i am a begginer can anyone tell me a VERY simple way to get started?.

Since I don't play too much 6 string, I usually just tune to a straight A and use a penny with two strings in high octave to scratch. Has a good sound.

Peace,
JD

Use a high density pick & scrap it accross the E string wink. Preferably towards the headstock rather than towards the bridge

Javed,

select your bridge pickup, and set your strumming pattern. As you strum, accentuate upstrokes and mute the note a bit with your left hand. What matters is a percussive sound, moreso than the note itself. Listen to Alphabet St., toward the end (when Ingrid starts reciting the alphabet), P does a lot of scratch guitar. Pretty nice.

Hope this helps.
