Im a programmer & you wont get a site like mine unless you are too. You need to learn html at least if your gonna get anything together.

Dreamweaver is really easy to use. If you can use Word and you spend a little time with a big book on Dreamweaver, you can make a decent site.

I just did mine and it was a lot easier than I thought. The book that I have is really easy to follow: It's called Dreamweaver 4 Fireworks 4 Studio : A Beginner's Guide by Kim Cavanaugh. Sure it would be nice to have a site like Cloud9mission, but it isn't necessary. You can eventually develop one with Dreamweaver and later on Flash. If you just want to put your music out, it's easy with Dreamweaver. I put my songs up in 30 minutes!

Trust me on this one, the only reason your site may not look as good as it could is because you dont know the code. Its not very hard, I myself have only been webdesigning for 6 months in total & before then I was a complete novice.

The main codes you will need are html, javascript & possibly a little Perl. Languages like asp & php (like prince.org) are worth knowing too but are not as widely used. With this knowelege & dreamweaver, your site will look very impressive. I use dreamweaver myself as it makes things a lot quicker but I am only able to use it properly now I know the codes.

A good server also helps. Mine is an 800mb unix machine with 6 gigabytes of bandwidth per month. Ive used nearly all the free host providers & have learned one thing, they are all shit lol.

My main advice is to not be so intent on getting everything free. Most people come to the internet with the intention of getting cheap flights, cheap CDs (or better yet downloading mp3s) & the internet is not that way anymore. You dont get something for nothing these days & so if you want a nice site with thousands of visitors, you need to put you money where your mouth is. The main thing I have learned from the year or so I have maintained cloud9mission.uk.co is that is you want to make money, you have to put some in.
